New York City
New York City is exactly how it looks in the movies, its an urban jungle that is bustling with people and lights and it really does never sleep. New York City has a never ending list of things to see and do and even after visiting the city five times I still haven't scratched the surface of all the incredible things that make this city so great. It has one of the best food scenes in the US, a globally renowned theatre district on Broadway and a beautiful park that offers a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Where to Stay
Novotel Times Square - This is a great option for a first time visit to New York as it sits in the heart of Manhattan and is walking distance to attractions like Times Square and Rockerfeller Plaza.
Hotel Hendricks - Located on west 38th street and 6th avenue, this hotel is located in the heart of midtown and is close to Bryant Park and the Empire State Building.
Jazz on Columbus Circle - This is the best hostel I have stayed at in NYC, there are options for private rooms and it is has a great location that is close to Central Park.
Holiday Inn Newark International Airport - Located out in New Jersey this is an option for anyone who wants to keep the cost down. The hotel has a free shuttle to Newark Airport where you can pick up a train directly to Penn Station in Manhattan.
